I work in a steel plant. There’s a list of strange rules we have to follow:

I just started a new job at a steel plant. It’s the best job in the area, so I can’t tell you where it is or I’ll be back to working at the gas station (if I’m lucky, ha ha!), but management posted up a set of weird rules in the breakroom we all have to follow. When I ask my coworkers who’ve been there for a while, they shrug and say it keeps us safe.

The rules are:

1. All employees on the plant floor must wear high vis vests and hard hats at all times
2. Employees must stay inside designated footpaths while moving through the plant
3. There is no smoking on the plant floor
4. Follow all posted safety directives at all times
5. Report all unauthorized personnel to security

Is this normal?
